Order of the Engineer:
The Order was initiated in the United States in 1970 to foster a spirit of pride and responsibility in the engineering profession and to present to the public a visible symbol identifying the engineer. Those vowing to uphold the “Obligation of the Engineer” receive a ring as a symbol of their pledge. The Order is not a membership organization; there are never any meetings to attend or dues to pay. Family and friends are invited to take part in this celebration. Any engineer who has graduated from an ABET-accredited engineering program or holds a PE license is eligible.
