Efficiency and productivity are key elements to any successful manufacturing endeavor. The Harbour Report is a comprehensive annual view of how North American automobile manufacturers stack up on clearly defined metrics of productivity. The evening’s discussion will focus on The Harbour Report 2006 and the story behind it. Who are the best and what separates them from the rest? Which automakers are improving the most? What strategies are different companies pursuing to raise productivity? What does the data show about the future? Which companies have the most unused capacity and what are they doing about it? Some of the findings will surprise you.
Speaker: Mr. Mark Tuckfield
Mark Tuckfield is a senior consultant with Harbour Consulting in Troy, MI., where he has worked with a variety of manufacturing clients on three continents. In addition to assessing current production processes, Mark has collaborated with Harbour’s clients on transforming their plant-floor productivity through the principles of lean manufacturing. Mark also is major contributor to The Harbour Report, compiling and analyzing data for the annual productivity report card for North American automobile manufacturers. Mark’s auto industry career spans more than two decades with experience ranging from long-term manufacturing strategy and product planning to manufacturing process development.
