The Gold Award Banquet will be held on Thursday, February 18, 2010 at Rock Financial Showplace in Novi. The Gold Award For
over 35 years the Affiliate Council of the Engineering Society of
Detroit has honored the engineering profession each year during
National Engineers Week. At their annual banquet, the Council presents its most prestigious tribute, The Gold Award, to honor an outstanding engineer or scientist. The Gold Award is the most prestigious honor engineers can bestow on one of their peers and was established to celebrate excellence in multi-disciplinary technical fields. | For your Process Improvement Path, Choose Wisely |
WEBSITE: ReduceOR.com Date: Wednesday April 21, 2010 Time: Evening, TBD
Sustainable Productivity Solutions "Processes + People DRIVE Performance"
The
subject I am most interested in speaking on these days is “For Your
Process Improvement Path, Choose Wisely”. It is based on my
experience watching companies change the message of their industrial
engineering effort to the latest fad title, without considering, based
on their culture and needs, what their process improvement should focus
on. In addition to my experience as an internal IE at UPRR, I
spent a couple of years on the Conference Board’s Six Sigma council.
During this experience, I interacted with the individual’s leading the
LEAN/Six Sigma/CI effort at various large organizations, and learned
quite a bit about the challenges they have. All this has fueled
my current passion regarding this subject of learning to focus on a
process improvement effort that fits your organization’s needs and
culture.
Please inform Dave Cottrill or Vanda Ametlli if attending so the chapter can keep accurate attendance records for Chapter CAR points and gain feedback on its events. programs@iiedetroit.org |
