Ready to Dive Back In!

Welcome back from summer vacation. Normally the Detroit Chapter will take July and August off for the summer holiday – but – your Board of Directors was busy planning activities anyway.

I want to first highlight our Golf Tournament held on July 28. Tej Jhamb did a great job organizing the event, and we had increased attendance this year. This has given us ideas about making more plans for next year’s tournament. If you have any special requests for next year’s tournament, or other activities that will be of interest to our members, please contact me or any other Board member.

We also had our Harbour Report on the status of the Automotive Industry on August 15. I found the program very interesting. This program was also very well attended, and we appreciate Ron Harbour giving our chapter this additional and personal insight to his research and where the indicators say the automotive industry is going.

With the summer programs behind us now, kids will be going back to school and our fall programs are falling into place. We also want to start fleshing out our ballot for a new Board of Directors. I would like to extend an invitation to any of our members to attend one of our Board Meetings to observe our chapter management processes, recommend improvements, and perhaps join in the planning process. I find that when many of our talented Detroit Chapter members get involved – we accomplish some great things.
