President's Message - January 2003
Happy New Year and welcome back!

Congratulations to all for electing a very competent array of officers for the post of “Board of Directors”. The selected officers are diligent, hard working and enthusiastic. They are equipped to make year 2003 another productive and banner year.
Elections resulted in retaining some of our experienced officers and with addition of new blood to the board. Let me welcome and introduce new officers of the board.

This year’s board priorities are going to be:
1) Inculcate a strong bond with local Universities.
2) Involve our members in providing assistance to non-profit organizations in Community Affairs projects.
3) Provide umbrella to Metro
Detroit area schools to promote I.E. profession.
I like to congratulate Mr. Dean Pyers, who has been awarded the Detroit Chapter’s
“Distinguished Service Award” for the year 2003. .Mr Pyers was a past President of the Detroit Chapter. He also has held various positions during his tenure of 15 years. Mr. Pyers will be presented his award at the annual ESD Gold Award banquet held on Feb19, 2003 at the Dearborn Inn. I would also like to recognize Mr. Gary Altman II as the winner of Irv Otis Scholarship for year 2003.I would like thank our out going president Mr. Vito
Wasniewski for an outstanding job he did in taking Detroit Chapter through
uncharted territories with excellent outcome. We wish the best in his new
position.
We are committed in providing excellent customer service to our chapter members. (State of the monthly programs, award winning news letters and most often visited website)
.I would like to build upon the team work and inter-active
communication through e-mails and encourage our members to provide input as how
to further improve our services.
