Hello IIE Members & IE Practitioners,

 

First of all I would like to thank our outgoing President, Dr. Jayant Trewn for his dynamic leadership, direction and contribution to the chapter. Secondly I am grateful to all Board officers for electing me as President of the Chapter for 2005. I am pleased to accept your confidence in my organizational abilities and promise to make 2005, an exciting year full of variety of programs, seminars, courses, networking opportunities and career enhancing information. I can count on your support & contribution and you can count on me.

This year my personal focus will be on the following activities & projects: 

  1. Develop joint partnerships and programs with other professional institutions in Metro Detroit area, such as SAVE, SME, APICS, ASQ etc.

  2. Support IIE Region-4 Seminars & Courses being organized by Vito Wasniewski, Region VP.

  3. Introduce a new IIE Student Chapter at Oakland University, Rochester Hills, Michigan.

  4. Support Faculty of Engineering at Oakland University, Rochester Hills to introduce Under Graduate course in Industrial Engineering.

  5. Organize “Lean Six Sigma Value Management” Symposium for Healthcare & Manufacturing industry

  6. Support IIE Student Chapters to develop their organizational leadership & professional skills, and promote IIE within universities.

  7. Advertise Industrial Engineering profession in the community, schools, colleges & universities.

  8. Encourage IIE members and IE practitioners to actively participate in community services in Metro Detroit area.

  9. Focus on integration of Industrial Engineering with the currently practiced tools in the industry, such as Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, Taguchi, Quality Function Deployment etc.

  10. Finally, provide IIE members an opportunity to experience cutting edge Industrial Engineering tools, techniques and concepts.

 

I am quite proud of the abilities & excellence of the Board of Directors of IIE Greater Detroit Chapter and am quite confident that with their unselfish support, contribution and cooperation, we shall fulfill the great expectations of IIE membership.

 

I personally thank you all for your membership and continuing support to IIE Greater Detroit Chapter. I encourage you to participate actively in the day to day activities of the chapter.
