Chapter Role:  Vice President Programs

Biography:

Professional : Bob currently is employed by General Motors, where he works in the Competitive Operations Engineering Operations activity. He has worked in a wide range of functional areas, including: Plant Engineering, Quality, Material, Industrial Engineering, and Competitive Analysis. Bob also has had work assignments in several manufacturing facilities throughout the world including; China, Brazil, Canada, England, Germany, and the U.S. He holds an M.S. degree in Operations Research from Wayne State University, and an undergraduate degree in Mathematics from Eastern Michigan. He has continued to keep his traditional I.E. skills current by reading, attending seminars, and IIE programs.

Professional Institutions Offices Held : Robert Fitzgerald has held the position of Programs V.P. since 1997. During Bob’s tenure, several improvements to the program notification, registration, evaluation, and follow-up processes have been implemented.  He provides the board with timely feedback on program planning and attendance feedback that is utilized as supporting data for the chapter’s Newsletter, CAR Report, and Membership activities.
